CHELMSFORD, Mass., July 11 (Nationwide Times) — INDYCAR and iRacing Studios have struck a long-term licensing deal to create the first standalone IndyCar video game in more than 20 years, with versions planned for PlayStation, Xbox and Steam in the second half of 2026.
INDYCAR said the new title will be built from the ground up by a dedicated development team using iRacing Studios’ enhanced Orontes engine. The game is set to include a multilevel career mode, licensed drivers from the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone, and online multiplayer.
The series also said real-world drivers and teams will be involved in development, including Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin.
INDYCAR said its existing presence in iRacing’s PC racing service will continue under the new agreement, but separate from the standalone release.
