Donald Trump speaking at a NATO press conference, with a NATO sign visible in the background

ANKARA, Türkiye, July 8 (DC Times Online) — President Donald Trump said he would fly back to Washington on an older Air Force One because the newer presidential plane was being sent to Mildenhall Air Force Base in the United Kingdom so U.S. troops could tour it.

Trump said in a Truth Social post and in remarks at a press conference after the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, that the aircraft would stop at several bases so service members could see it. He called the plane “truly magnificent” and said he would take the former Air Force One “for old time’s sake.”

At the same press conference, Trump said the life of a president is “very dangerous” and said he is “No. 1 on the kill list for Iran” and “their number one target.” He did not provide evidence for the claim in the remarks cited in the brief.
